Stradbroke Island is one of South East Queensland’s worst kept secrets. Thousands of visitors come to the Island every year because it not only offers beautiful scenery and wildlife but has paved roads so a 4WD is generally not necessary. Although if you do have a 4WD you can cruise the beaches and explore places that a standard car can’t get to. You are only 45 minutes by ferry from Brisbanes eastern suburbs but you will feel like you are lost on a tropical Island. With the Pandanas palms and Rocky beach-side outcrops, you could almost imagine you are in the Whitsundays but the beaches are better on Stradboke Island.
Some of the activities you can try are Swimming, Surfing, Fishing, Bird Watching, Off Roading, Bush Walking, kayaking and much much more. Stradbroke Island is a well developed Island so groceries and drinks are not hard to come by at all. There are also some great restaurants and fish and chip shops.
At their Amity Point property they offer a EcoShack Cabin. Which is currently offline but we are hoping to try them very soon.
